What’s the plan?

  • The Qatar Fund for Development has invested $8 million into Qatar Creating Vision.

  • The initiative will bring charity partners and hospitals together to improve 11 eye care units in India and 8 in Bangladesh.

  • A dedicated unit for retinopathy of prematurity which affects premature babies, will be established in Bangladesh.

  • Together the partners will deliver over 5.5 million eye tests and treatments.

  • Qatar Creating Vision will train 6,700 medical professionals.

  • Children will receive eye tests at their school and be fitted with glasses free of charge – there and then.

  • We create a safety net to help those who cannot afford treatment, meaning all have access to top quality eye care.
